Semperfli Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 240 Yards is part of the Semperfli 12/0 70 denier range of Classic Waxed Threads (CWT) which have been designed specifically for fly tying for midges, emergers and dry flies. Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 240 Yards Black usually used on hook sizes 10 to 20. Many tyers are moving to our 12/0 thread in preference to traditional 8/0 because it is still strong with a breaking strain of 489gm (17.25oz) but presents a thinner profile thread. Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 240 Yards threads are unique; laying flat with a two core construction but can easily be split to create dubbing loops and they are strong threads. We worked with our Pro Team to get the correct amount of wax on each thread to hold materials but not clog your bobbin holder with Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 240 Yards . There are 220m / 240 yards (approx ) per spool of Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 240 Yards
Using similar techniques as with Nnao Silk we extruded thin Polyester strands which were then slightly twisted and had a light amount of wax added to them. The amount of wax added has been specifically applied after consultations with top Professional Fly Tyers.
With the lightly twisted strands this allows the thread to both lay flat and split easier than other threads on the market. Having reviewed the market offerings we also added 12/0 to the range and included Fluorescent colors along with the traditional colours desired.
