The first references to the fishing reel come from the turn of the 12th and 13th century AD. It was invented in… China. Of course, it has come a long way from the primitive line retracting and storing device to the modern spinning reel. The modern reel design had begun at the end of the 19th century and is still evolving.
It should be noted that this is the most important part of your spin fishing equipment. Its proper selection, adaptation to the fishing technique or fishery conditions is crucial when it comes to the comfort and effectiveness of fishing. A different reel will be used with an ultra-light glued-in tip rod, and a completely different one for catching catfish or zander. The main task of a reel in the spinning technique is to correctly balance the rod and create a set which feels like an extension of the arm. Therefore, the reel should not be chosen carelessly. An optimally matched set will make fishing a real pleasure, and if we do something with pleasure, good results can be achieved.

Of course, modern spinning reels vary in design and characteristics. They come in different sizes and offer various brake forces, gear ratios and shapes of the spool.
Leading manufacturers compete with each other in the implementation of the latest technologies. As a result, we can enjoy an almost endless selection of spinning reels for every technique and for every pocket.
Our offer includes extremely light yet very durable reels made of graphite or magnesium, as well as heavy but indestructible designs made of metal.

We warn you against choosing a reel based on the declared spool capacity. This is an easy way to buy a reel that is too small and too delicate for a given technique of fishing.
