LAMINATED 1/4" PRESLICED MULTI-COLOR FOAM is very useful in a wide series of very high floating patterns over the last decade. The use of foam traces back to our our very beginning with flies like my 'Bill BLacks CDC foam ants and beattles. ( I am a fan) More recently Montana Fly Co, and Rainy's Flies worked a lot of foam into their patterns . Heck...even my old company Umpqua Feather Merchants got into it. You'll find these style of mostly attractor patterns throughout the Rocky Mountain Shops. *In fact we have a new foam UV2 Dos-XXies fly that is a humpy with foam back and XX rubber legs. Its incredible. Ever get tired of slicing foam...trying to get it to match and stick together. Well hells-bells...lets laminate it. So we did. Problem was slicing it. Once we figured out this trick ( months later and a surfboard worth of foam) we were able to do this line up of laminated foam strips. Its pretty darn easy to lash it to a hook and add a few rubber Dancing Legs to it. Presto...you have a hot, never sink fly. And because you can flip it you can get a ton of top-bottom color combinations. Lots of Hopper-Stonefly-and buggy body colors. Each bag comes with 8 ready to use foam strips. No one else I know has these, they are sooo convenient you should buy all the colors. The 7MM is for larger hooks. I like the 5mm on 2-4-6 size hooks and use the 3mm for 6-8-10. Note that we intentionally sliced the foam in roughly 1/4 strips but there are ones with a slight taper.
