I am always on a constant search for the most effective ways of rigging this soft bait. Standard hook rigging for Drop shot method allows a lure to work perfectly. However, there are some problems with striking a fish. Ribster is 11,5 cm long and features a single front hook. I have tried all rigging methods and I came to the conclusion that a classic jighead or an offset hook opens up many more opportunities than anticipated by the manufacturer. The ringed body with a fin at the end allows the lure to work effectively. Having done a lot of testing, I have obtained a bait which is very effective. I would not recommend rigging this lure on a jighead weighing over 10g. Soft baits Ribster are designed for shallow, overgrown backwaters. Too much weight of the jighead dampens a lure action. The optimal solution is 6 grams with 5/0 hook or a soft bait without any added weight, rigged only on an offset hook. Thanks to that we receive a completely anti-snag lure for the most overgrown parts of reservoir. This elicits aggressive and successful strikes. Although, a pike will be the main catch, you can expect to catch other predatory fish under favorable conditions. Interesting color options allow you to adjust the lure to the conditions. Interesting color options allow you to adjust the lure to the water conditions. Apart from a few exceptions, all soft baits feature natural colors. In order to make this long and light lure work attractively, you need to properly compose the equipment. A 0,08 mm braided line and a delicate rod up to 10 g allow us to unmistakably present the lure as well as have fun with trailing a big fish. I''''d advise against using thick tungsten leaders which stiffens the whole set and soundproof the work of the softbait. Light rigging allows the lure almost to stop on a dime, and this is not without significance while fishing for pike. It is because of the stopping that most fish are provoked to strike. Anglers who fish with hard and soft jerk-baits are aware of that. I haven’t embraced all the possibilities of this lure and I draw new conclusions with each strike, especially when it comes to the American and Polish way of rigging. I cannot say that this lure is effective when it comes to every fish but I am sure that it has great potential. Inquisitive anglers will view it as a softbait that can replace dozens of other softbaits. After all, most of our predators, spend most of the time in very shallow parts of rivers and lakes, where they can easily find shelter and plenty of food.*
