UNI-Cord (7/0, 8/0 and 12/0) is an extremely strong ( for the same diameter it is twice as strong as Kevlar) fly-tying thread manufactured of continuous fibers of gel-spun polyethylene (GSP). It is considerably more expensive than other threads and so is reserved for unusual situations where a fine but very strong thread is required.

UNI Products Inc., a world leader in supplying spooled fly-tying materials.
UNI Products started when Mr. Jean-Guy Côté, a well-known fly-tier was looking for innovative products to tie his flies. He decided to spool his original discovery, a thread with improved tying characteristics when compared with existing market offerings. At first Jean-Guy only intended to share the new product with his fly-tying friends, but soon the demand increased to the point where he decided to do it in full time.
