Carp & Specialist Big Pit Reels
Big pit carp reels belong to a family of specialized reels designed for special tasks. Looking at them, one word comes to mind. Power. A characteristic feature of big pits is a very large spool that can accommodate a supply of monofilament line or braided line, suitable for long-distance fishing. A solution taken from sea fishing reels - a shallow and wide spool combined with slow oscillation allow to minimize resistance during casting, and this translates into the distance we will be able to pass our set. The large spool is the perfect solution for fishing with a bait boat. Such fishing requires a large capacity of the spool while maintaining the life of the gear. To achieve this, the most commonly used gears with a small ratio are the wide rotor arms in combination with a wide spool to ensure proper winding. Due to their intended use, big pit reels are equipped with high-force brakes, thanks to which they are not afraid of a duel with the largest carp.
